Re: The Forums - Images and Topics
I agree with you, Bertie. No doubt, by saying that, I shall be accused of being a ‘bully’ again. Yeah, I saw that very unfair comment about you, Barnard. There was no need for that. It does seem certain 'old regulars' can post some quite negative and dismissive stuff and get away with it. Whereas a...

Re: The Forums - Images and Topics
I must admit, I didn't realise some people on here - a couple especially - had such an issue with the non-Blyton aspects of the forums! In catching up with the old posts since joining I've seen the occasional moan about them, but it's getting quite regular of late. I've been on a good few fan sites ...

We find out in Invisible Thief that that's Goon and Colonel Cross.

I think that's Torquemada - an anagram of drama quote.

Re: Mystery Holly Lane
Yeah, Daisy does chip in with a few more useful comments than normal. And Larry is the one who spots the old man in the first place - and hears him shouting for help having left the cloth behind. So a little more contribution for the Daykin's in this one, and less so for Bets for once (which, with t...

Thanks, Boatbuilder.
In Five Go Down to the Sea, what couple of things does Mrs Penruthlan call Yan while she gives him an (unwilling) bath? They involve the phrase "(dirty) little ... that you are!"

I think that's Five Go Off In a Caravan? When they find out they'd put the caravans right on top of the boards that cover the underground entrance?

Re: Mystery Holly Lane
Good suggestion, GloomyGraham. :) A thing that I always found (unintentionally) amusing was Pip's sudden u-turn regarding Marian. When they find out she's disappeared he says, "I thought she was (guilty). Going off like that. Perhaps they've found her, money and all." Then, not long after,...

Re: What Are You Doing Now?
Thanks Boodi and Boatbuilder.
Just spoken to him this morning and apparently they've had a few trauma cases to fit in first and his may be pushed back to at least Tuesday now! At least they're controlling his pain better now so he's a lot more 'comfortable' (as much as he can be!) while he waits.

Re: What Enid Blyton book are you reading right NOW!
Just finished reading Five Have A Wonderful Time. I always enjoy it as it's a good book and I'm much fonder of that than it's predecessor, Hike. Jo again comes to the Five's rescue (as she does in all three of her books), this time with the aid of the rest of the Fair folk. In the Jo books, the FF a...

Re: Mystery Holly Lane
Just re-reading Holly Lane once more. I always enjoy it. It flows along nicely, I think - with a good blend of humour and detective work. One section got me thinking again about something that I've often wondered - and I'm sure I've posted about on here at some stage! Fatty asks Buster, "Why is...
