Re: The 77/78 TV series: Little mistakes and special moments
Nor do they spoil mine. I created this topic (all those years ago) only to make fans watch the episodes again and again and again and again and ...lwindrush wrote: Little mishaps and continuity errors occur in even the most big budget films so they never spoiled my enjoyment.
And I think I succeed.

Re: Michele Gallagher
Ah, I said she spoke German, not that she was fluent or anything. Yes she did, she was totally fluent That's what I supposed because Michele's son told me that her mother (called Barbera) was German. So Michele certainly grew up bilingually. It's nice to have someone here on these forums who knew M...

Re: Famous Five Reunited - Online now!
Ah yes the old series/season terminology. We called them Series One and Series Two at the time. The concept of a TV show running as a "season" is an Americanism that didn't really take off here till the 90s. Okay, I will keep that in my mind and speak of the Series One and Series Two from...

Re: Famous Five Reunited - Online now!
Dear Andrew, thank you very much for posting this link. I enjoyed the interview very much. It’s amazing to listen to Marcus, Gary, Jennifer and Gail Renard talking about the FF-series. As I’m a kind of “die hard”-fan of the 70’s FF series, it was thrilling for me to hear the actor’s grown-up voices....

Re: Michael Hinz RIP
Sorry, but I could not edit my last post. I just wanted to tell you, that this article was written for the German fanpage by it’s webmaster in 2004. It is about a meeting between German fans with Marcus and Gary. So I always thought the webmaster got this information about Sue Best from Gary and Mar...

Re: Michael Hinz RIP
If I recall rightly, Sue Best, who played Aunt Fanny, also died a few years ago of cancer or something. I wasn't aware of this. Oh what a shame. Where did you find that snippet of info from? I often wondered what happened to Sue. I'm very sorry for never answering this question, but I didn't actual...

Re: Michael Hinz RIP
I read about these sad news in the newspaper on last saturday.
I always wanted to write him a letter, to ask him whether he could tell me a little about the making of the FF-series. I even knew the address of his agency. But I never really did it. Now it´s too late.
It´s very sad.

Re: Michele Gallagher
Thank goodness this discussion is no longer taking place in our forums. I find it unbelievable that David Moore who posted on these forums as Bannerman will simply not let the matter rest. I would also like to add that I don't know who Tony is in that discussion, but it certainly isn't me! :twisted...

Re: "Chorion" is walling up!!!
I am always being told that I have to watch more German television, or videos, and where better to do that than watch the Famous Five?! As the language is not too difficult, they are quite easy to understand, and any bits that I don't know, I can remember what it says in the English versions well e...

Re: The 77/78 TV series: Little mistakes and special moments
I found a strange thing in "Five are together again": Before George leaves the tent at night to get Timmy she whispers to Anne: "I'm going to take Tinker's bike from the house. It won't be long." And Anne answers "Okay". In the German version this dialogue is missing. I...

Re: "Chorion" is walling up!!!
It seems to be a very literal translation of the original - in the opening of the first episode (...) The voices are not bad - except Julian, who doesn't sound right for the part as his voice is too high and doesn't really stand out above the others'. It's strange that they used real children for t...

Re: Actors from the 78 Famous Five Series
Marcus Harris and Jennifer Thanisch came over very well indeed and we were even treated to a tantalising glimpse of behind the scenes footage of the actual filming. What other goodies lurk in the Southern TV vaults? Potential items there as extras for a DVD box-set, should that ever happen. Thank y...

Re: The 77/78 TV series: Little mistakes and special moments
Hmm, I don't think it was the same, Pippa-Stef. The house where George is kept as prisoner by Red Tower, was only used in "Five fall into adventure". Some Kirrin Cottage-scenes in "adventure" (for example the scene when Jo comes to Julian, Dick and Anne, telling them that George ...

Re: The 77/78 TV series: Little mistakes and special moments
I think I've found another little 'mistake'. It's in the episode 'Five get into trouble'. When Julian, Anne, George and Richard Kent have passed the gates of Owl's Dene (searching for poor prisoner Dick) they first stop in the garden watching the house. Then, Richard turns around and has to see that...
