Re: Thinking of Enid as one of our friends/family members
That's really a great idea, Zaidi!
OK, let us not replace any of our relatives, but we'll imagine Enid as an extra aunt (adding to the long list of aunties that I already have).
That's actually great! I would love that.

Re: Who did you prefer? Julian or Fatty?
I voted for Julian. I like the character of Fatty in a book, but not in real life. I coudn't stand him. As someone pointed out I remember him being a bit mean in some occassion. Since some people say that Julian could be boring if he's a real life character, let me give a real life example too. If I...

Re: A Birthday Ode
There's nothing rascist in Enid Blyton's books. Racism is in the eye of the beholder!
I am an Indian and I have never felt anything that is related to racism in EB's books. I guess if we talk about Blyton being a racist to a group of Indian EB fans they would be rather surprised.

Re: Which is your favourite cartoon show?
I too used to like Hong Kong Phooey and Danger Mouse. I watched DM when I was six years old. I remember one particular episode in DM when a spaceship that resembled the long stick that is used in Billiards would fly in outer space and the planets would resemble the balls used in that game! But I don...

The Adventures of Huckleberry Hound (with Pixie and Dixie and Yogi Bear) Popeye Captain Pugwash (not strictly a cartoon) Boss Cat (really Top Cat, but the name was changed as there was a brand of cat food called Top Cat!) I can't recall any more, but there probably were some! You must remember we o...
