Re: Five Find-Outers & Dog Standout Moments
One of my all time favourite moments is when Fatty is practising ventriloquism and Goon is terrified -- "ooh where's me auntie" - Think it's in the Mystery of the Strange Bundle.

Re: The Wishing Chair v The Faraway Tree
The Wishing Chair for me. I got my copy from my auntie, it was hers as a child and she had watercoloured in all the outline illustrations and I read it over and over. Enchanted stores good too.

Re: Come Inside Fatty's Shed...
I thought it was mentioned in The Mystery of Banshee Towers when Buster and Ern's dog curl up in it together.

Re: Find-Outers revisited!
Yes I'm in FFO season too. I am replacing a set of modern paperback books with vintage hardbacks as these were my favourite Blyton books as a child. Still love them now.

I don't mind a little musty smell but this is very pungent. I've been airing it all week but it is still quite horrible.

Mystery of the Invisible Thief 1990 reprint
As you know I had a disappointment with a poor condition copy of the 1950s title and have been offered a discounted 1990 reprint for about £3, it looks identical in terms of the outer cover but I cannot find any pics of the inside to see if it has illustrations etc - what do you think? should I buy ...

I am reading a Blyton biography called 'looking for enid' and I left it on my desk at work, 3 people have picked it up and expressed interest in reading it, so there is now a queue when I've finished it. We were all sharing our blyton memories from childhood.

Re: First Vintage Findouters book arrived - smells!
I googled it and there seems to be a few ideas but they are not quick - the premise is to make sure the book is thoroughly dry and aired, so Blyton has been in the microwave and is now fanned out to air. Not noticing any improvement yet.

Re: Errors in books
Thanks for posting the illustration Pete. Yes the older illustrations are much more accurate. They are one of the things that are so magical about Enid Blyton books.
