I used to be a fan of Take That group. But in this video clip their faces look very different from Take That members. None of them look familiar.

I've never been a fan to be honest, but neither have I had a dislike of them.
I found this latest tune well written and catchy though. :D

Here's a slightly more wacky song I've always had a soft spot for:

They Might be Giants-Birdhouse In Your Soul

I love Birdhouse In Your Soul - and my son likes it too. I'll be singing it all day now!

Elvis Presley - Way Down

This was the last Elvis single released before his death. He was accompanied by J. D. Sumner and the Stamps. According to the Guinness Book of Records, Sumner had the lowest bass voice ever recorded.

Great song Domino. It went to Number one in the UK charts and stayed there for five weeks after Elvis died. The B side was his version of Pledging my Love a country hit from 1954 by a guy called Johnny Ace.

Yes, Spanish is my first language. Yours too, judging by your name?

Now I was listening to this song by two country legends, lamenting the murder of traditional country music (killed by the more commercial pop-country):

George Strait & Alan Jackson - Murder on Music Row

(Music Row is an area of Nashville, Tennessee, where all the recording studios and music labels specializing in country music are located).

Elvis Presley - I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone

http://www.dropshots.com/Domino43/date/ ... 3/10:49:38" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This was recorded in 1955 and released as the B side of "Baby, Let's Play House", which got to No: 5 in the US Country Chart, but did nothing in their Pop Chart. It wasn't released in the UK until 1958, when this B side was a hit but the A side wasn't.

Oh, thank goodness — I've finally tracked down this song that has been getting stuck in my head periodically for years and I've never managed to track it down, even with all the power of the internet... I couldn't for the life of me remember who sang it, and any search for "China Blue" only brought up a host of other songs of the same name, while searching for snippets of the lyrics (many of which I remembered) also brought up nothing useful.

I'm surprised, actually, that it seems so obscure now when it was on the radio all the time when I was little... maybe because the singer, Julie Anthony, is quite famous in Australia but doesn't seem to have become a big name internationally?

Anyway, here it is: Julie Anthony — China Blue Not the world's most profound piece, but one that brings back happy childhood memories!

I'm afraid it's that time of night again when my sanity level drops at an alarming rate. If you love Handel's great coronation anthem Zadok the Priest...

... then maybe don't listen to this new version dubbed by the Trans Siberian March Band.
