Felicity's Last Term at Malory Towers

Post by Tony Summerfield »

Our next weekly serial will be the fourth and final part of Lisa Newton's Malory Towers sequels. As many of you now know, sadly Lisa died before any of these appeared on the website, but her twin sister Trudi has kindly supplied me with all the books that she wrote. Pictured below is Trudi's cover illustration for this final book.

I enjoyed the previous three Malory Towers sequels so I sure I will also enjoy the final one. I'm sure Trudi must be happy to see her sister's stories reaching a wider audience.

I enjoy reading Lisa Newton's Malory Towers stories. She captures the ethos of the school, and her love of Enid Blyton's originals shines through. It's lovely to see her sister Trudi's cover illustration.

Are Lisa's stories as long as Enid's? I do seem to read them very quickly. Maybe she wrote them for the website, in which case they are probably about the right length.

A very satisfactory beginning to the new serial - and sad it's the last Malory Towers term for Felicity. I'm looking forward very much to reading this.

I'm really enjoying this story... Lisa seems to capture the atmosphere of the school so well. In a way, I think school stories must be harder to write than adventure stories - the day to day doings of the school are, by the very nature of the confined situation, more difficult to make into an interesting tale, but Lisa has done so brilliantly.

With so much to do over Christmas I have only just read the final episode of Lisa's serial. It's sad to see the last of dear old Malory Towers. I shall have to dig out my old Armada copies and start reading them again.

Or you recover your German and read the 12 German continuation novels. Apart of that there are 6 continuation novels by Pamela Cox available.

It's never too late, Kate Mary :-).
Members of the Yahoo group may remember that someone started translating the German continuation books but stopped after one and a half books. Unfortunately the page is no longer available as it seems.

I've been trying to catch up with the serials. I've finished the 4th form and I am now half way through the 5th form.
I downloaded the whole story into a word document and then converted it into a format I can read on my phone using the kindle app. I find it much easier that way than reading on a computer screen.

I have just caught up and read the final chapter of this very entertaining story. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I first read the Malory Towers books when I was about 12 and each time I got to Darrell's departure I would think - I'm luckier than Darrell, I can go back to the first book and relive it all again... which I have done many many times since. Lisa's continuation books have been a delight. In this last one it was great to meet Darrell and friends once again too.

This thread hasn't been brought up since 2014 and seemingly those sequels were really good! Is there any probability of finding them anywhere to read?
