Re: The Rubadub Mystery
There are quite a few on eBay. for some reason the Barney mystery series doesn't sell at all well, probably because there's now a whole generation of people for whom it has never been in print!

Re: The Rubadub Mystery
I really don't understand why.. I mean, the Barney mysteries are probably one the best EB series and a classic for children. Nowadays, I don't even want to go to a bookshop, because I see such 'horrible' (excuse the language) books.
And does that mean that if I want to buy a Barney book, I have to get it second-hand?

I agree, Maria Esther.
I love the Barney series - especially Rilloby Fair and Rubadub - and they deserve to still be in print...but I am selling several on eBay and they never sell as quickly as the Famous Five etc, sadly.

Re: The Rubadub Mystery
It grieves me that these books and The Secret Mountain are out of print. They are truly wonderful stories, easily among the best ever written by the UK's most popular ever Children's author.

Re: The Rubadub Mystery
At least the Barney mysteries haven't been taken right out of print as far as I know - they just haven't been reprinted lately...but its a shame about the Secret Mountain. Without that book, I probably wouldn't rate the Secret series very much at all!

Are the Barney mysteries really out of print? What a shame if so, their one of Enid's best series in my opinion. Such a shame if their not getting recognition, although on the plus side it means their also not getting altered with a modern makeover .

Re: The Rubadub Mystery
That already happened! In Rubadub Mystery the character 'Dummy' has become 'Dumpy'.
