Putting Pictures on Posts

Post by IceMaiden »

Please can someone explain to me how to attach pictures to a post? Or failing that, how to make a photo bucket picture show up? It keeps saying it's not the right size when I try to link them :x .

I use Tiny Pics, IceMaiden. Then all you need to do is to copy and paste the link straight onto this site. Somewhere on here, not sure where, but I believe I've seen a copy of the Tiny Pic board for you to view. :)

Here is the Tinypic link and information provided by Nigel on 30th September 2016 on the "What Are You Doing Now?" thread:

http://i68.tinypic.com/2n6xdmd.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Click on Choose file A window will open showing your folders/files. Select the photo you wish to upload by double clicking on it. Make sure the Image circle is checked. Then click on Resize and a drop-down menu will show various options. Click on the one you want, bearing in mind the EBS forums won't allow anything wider than 620, so Avatar, Thumbnail and Website are the only three permissible options if posting. Now click on Upload - no need to select an album.

When the upload is successful, copy and paste the BB code - For forums and Message Boards - onto your post. It should now appear when you press Preview and/or Submit.

I hope it helps, IceMaiden. :D I haven't tried it myself.

If you're using Photobucket, there's an "Editor" button above the image. Clicking on that brings up a "Resize" option. If you choose 620 pixels for the longer side, the shorter side will adjust automatically.

Eddie and Julie, thank you so much! :D tiny pic worked perfectly! I have finally managed to put a picture on a post

Anita, photobucket is what I normally use for uploading but whenever I try to use the resize option, it either goes all distorted or won't accept the number I put in no matter what I put. I don't if it's due to being on an iPad instead of a computer, the only image I've ever got to resize ok is my avatar pic and that was purely luck :P .

Sorry to bump an old thread, but it's the exact question I was wanting answering so I might as well use it.

The charity sent a couple of pictures of the mother cat and the kittens (tough to make them out individually), but I've never tried posting an image like that on here and I'm not sure how to do it. I know how to post URL's, and transfer images from the internet or cave of books, but I'm not sure how to upload images of my own?

If you use a picture from the Cave of Books, you don't have to upload an image to a hosting site.

These are the steps to post a picture from the Cave of Books:

Select a book and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click on RELOAD PAGE TO SHOW ILLUSTRATIONS.

Choose a picture and right-click on it.

Left-click on COPY IMAGE LINK from the drop-down list.

Paste the link into your forums post.

Highlight the link and left-click on the IMAGE symbol at the top of your post (it looks like a picture frame with a sun and mountains).

You can use PREVIEW (bottom of post) to check that the picture is showing up before you press SUBMIT.

Hope that helps!
