Re: Badge
Either way, as far as I know, sadly there are no badges. There totally should be though. Little badges with EBS on them would be lovely. Hint hint!
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Re: Badge
Don't hint - design one and get it made up! They could then be offered for sale to Society members!

Re: Badge
I'd be rich! If only I could draw and if only I could make badges
Maybe I will give it a go though.

Re: Badge
We did have Society badges, first a white one and then a red one.Fiona1986 wrote:Either way, as far as I know, sadly there are no badges. There totally should be though. Little badges with EBS on them would be lovely. Hint hint!
The badges were in the shape of the Society logo, the coloured backgrounds are just there to make it easier to see them.
I sold them for 50p, but the last one I saw for sale went for £30 on ebay!

Re: Badge
I still have a white Society badge, Tony. I'm not sure how long I've had it, but it must be a number of years.

Re: Badge
That looks like an interesting badge, Ming. Unlike the two in the pictures posted by Tony yesterday, I don't recall ever seeing your badge. How long ago was it issued by the Society? I think I've had my white enamel badge for around 13 years.
I hope your exams are going well for you and not causing you too much stress.

Re: Badge
Those badges were kindly sent to me by Paulo and we sold them for 50p at the Society stall at the 2007 EB Day.
You are absolutely right about the white badge Eddie, as I sold out of them about 13 years ago!

Re: Badge
Although owning a FF badge as a kid, I was never that keen on badges. I think I saw the scout/guide badges as a kind of statement - look at me, I can do first aid/tie knots/make tea/help old people to cross the road (whether or not they want to cross the road)/pluck chickens..........what a shame they didn't wear an "I'm a smarmy git" badge.
My profession is badge/epaulette crazy. Personally, I wear the bare minimum. "By your actions, shall they know what you do" is my motto!
Incidentally, the word Impatient says I'm Patient...now there's a contradiction!
