Re: Society Day in June?
Just realised that Lucky Star can't make 4 June at all - wouldn't want to exclude you Lucky! Others expressed a preference for one date or another but didn't exclude either. Francis - can you do 2 July if necessary?

Re: Society Day in June?
Of these two dates the 4th June is the one I can make. I wonder- the E.B.S days used to be, I believe, on the first Saturday in May (7th May in this case) . - I could make it- is this an option?

Re: Society Day in June?
It was more often the second Saturday in May, but I don't think that matters much. I think June was suggested because we had our Old Thatch gatherings in that month, chosen when the gardens were probably at their best.
At the moment either suggested date is all right for us, but we're never going to find one which suits everyone and who knows what may crop up between now and then anyway?

Agree we could go on discussing and no date will suit all. Francis - I know you enjoy these outings - if we go for 2 July, will you still be able to join us? This means that Lucky Star can also come. If so, suggest we agree to go for that date and then work from there.

Re: Forumites Meet Up in June?
Unfortunately 4th of June is impossible for me. I will quite understand if others wish to go for that date but my fingers are crossed for 2nd of July. I hope you can rearrange Izzy's Chichester outing Francis.

I wouldn't want you to miss the day and a little rearranging is good for the soul!

Re: Forumites Meet Up in June?
I hope that Izzy will forgive us and it's very sweet of you Francis to offer to rearrange the outing.
I suggest on that basis let's go for 2 July, which means Lucky Star can join us as well, and we can go from there.
Apart from a boat trip/pub lunch or pub lunch and Blyton style walk - any other ideas in terms of venues?

Re: Forumites Meet Up in June?
I've already marked 2nd July in my diary as a possible date for an EBS meet-up.
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.

Re: Forumites Meet Up in June?
I think the important thing is not to be too ambitious. The key part is meeting up (in the pub), socialising, talking with perhaps a little bit of swapping or selling our excess Blyton items - we all know how quickly time goes by! I am neutral on boat trip or walk - either is fine for me (sorry if this doesn't help, Sally). Just seeing you all will make the day for me.Sally wrote:I hope that Izzy will forgive us and it's very sweet of you Francis to offer to rearrange the outing.
