Great photos! What a pity you missed out, Pete.

Apparently they are targeting the whole of Penn Road.

If anyone wants to join in the objection the email address to send in your objection is - planning@southbucks.gov.uk and quote ref 15/01880/FUL - 40 Penn Road, Beaconsfield. The deadline is 26th October 2015.
Thanks for the details, Julie.

Oops — for some reason I remembered it as Bets (probably because she's the one who dotes on Fatty the most). Well done, Anita. :D

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Thanks for that Anita - I wasn't sure who were John and Erika, or Francis or Sally, and don't recall seeing Stephen before, but maybe I have. I recognise everyone else . :-) Good to see everyone having such a good time! :D

I've just finished reading everyone's reports and looked at the photos. It's great to hear what a good time you all had. I've been lucky enough to have visited the model village twice. The first time was 12 years ago, long before I discovered the Enid Blyton Society - it's nice to know that you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

The Red Lion looks lovely, I don't think I knew about it when I last visited Beaconsfield. :(

I'm rather concerned to see several photos of Anita with Noddy - had someone slipped something into her lunch time drink????

 I think Anita has at last been converted into a Noddy fan! Yay!

I also think Nigel was actually at the meeting, despite his denials...he's the one in the Noddy costume.

 I bet he was quaffing real ale when we weren't looking!

Noddy is quite a colourful chap, but if there had been a toy Kiki or Huffin and Puffin available I'm afraid I'd barely have noticed the little nodding man!

I emailed planning@southbucks.gov.uk about Northfields House and received a standard reply saying that they took all comments into account and they'd let me know the outcome.

Of course, ideally the council would buy Northfields House and turn it into an Enid Blyton museum...but that's asking too much I guess!

Ideally they'd demolish all the houses on Blyton Close, rebuild Green Hedges and turn it into an Enid Blyton Museum!

Speaking of the Red Lion we went to, I thought it was fabulous. I'd definitely go there again, and the chips were okay too. Stephen had the home made burger with chips, and he said it was lovely, never repeated on him at all, like some can. Definitely a tick for Trip Advisor in my book. :D
