A meet-up in Beaconsfield?

I'd be very, very happy to if we could agree on a date - even though we can't visit Old Thatch any more. Would anyone else be interested? :D

Most of my August is tied up, so for me August would probably be out. September for me I think. :)

Much of September is OK with me as well so perhaps we can firm up a date in a month or so. It would nice to see as many of the forumites as possible. It would also give some of the new forumites a chance to meet up with some of the 'older' hands.

I'd be fine to meet up some time in September, so long as I know several weeks in advance so I can request the day off.

Tony or Anita, perhaps the last few posts, beginning with Francis's suggestion, could be moved to a new thread in the Enid Blyton Day forum so that it's easier to find for others who might be able to come? :D

Now moved.

Now that Old Thatch is closed there is very little of Blyton relevance to see in Bourne End, so you might find that a meet up a few miles up the road in Beaconsfield is more relevant as there are quite a few things to see there. Just a suggestion.

I for one would prefer that too, Tony. Beaconsfield. See where Enid's house once stood, visiting the Beckinscot Model village. It has a definite Enid Blyton feel to it I always think. :)

Does that mean that The Red Lion would be a possible meeting venue to consider??

I'm not yet sure how busy I'll be in August and September but Beaconsfield would suit me too as I've never been there.

That would be the perfect place I think, Pete. Walkable distance to Enid Blyton Close too. :)

I would go along with that idea too.... I did wonder about visiting there sometime when I first heard about it. It would be great to meet up with some more forumites again.

Beaconsfield is fine by me. I haven't been there before, so I'd like to see the model village. Even more than that, I'd love to meet some fellow Society members in person at last! :D

I'd be happy to meet up in September at one of the venues mentioned. :D

I should like to come to the meet up but I need notice so I can book the time off. It would mean an overnight stop for me.

I'm interested, but don't know what date, if any, I could make. Either location would be ok, but I'd probably lean more towards Beaconsfield.

I'm interested too but am away for the first week of September and thereafter it would depend on my dreadful work schedule.
