Spotted this article in today's Daily Express:

It seems the author went to this years Enid Blyton Day???!!!

That must be the lady who was sitting with Pippa-Stef and Shadow, in the Spade Oak when we had the gathering for Old Thatch Day on June 18th.

She must have thought it was an Enid Blyton Day.

I think the quote was from Shadow. Though, apologies to Faraway_tree if it was her. It was interesting little chat for sure. I'm sure I ended up babbling away like one of Enid's brookes!

I remember her well. I think the term 'jolly' shows that it was our Bourne End soiree, and not a 'proper' Day - which of course, we didn't have this year.
