When I wrote my Enid Blyton Day article for the Journal I also did a modified version for the website, containing some comments from forumites and Society members, and it should be going up on the website along with more photos.

That would be lovely, Anita. Thanks for doing that for us all. Look forward to reading that also. :D

Hi Lucky Star,

Did I get that right? Is there already a possibility to sign up for the 2013 EB Day?
Any definite date in May 2013?
We are planning our trip to Europe for next year in early May, want to finish that trip with the EB Day and then fly back to the US the following day.
But before we don't know the date for the EB Day 2013, we cannot really start making travel plans.

I think you've missunderstood, Chrissie. Lucky Star was asking about a write up or in other words a review of the 2012 Society Day. If you look at the 2013 thread Tony has said he currently has no plans for another day.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Thanks, Fiona, I indeed misunderstood. Will try to find the 2013 EB Day thread.

We would all love one - but it obviously takes a lot of organising by Tony. I am sure he
will do one sometime in the future but we don't want to pressure him too much. Keep
your eyes open - I am sure some kind of event will take place this year but maybe at Beckenham
or Old Thatch.

There was talk of a tour of Beckenham wasn't there? Some time in June I think. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed I can make that one.

By the way, I'm visiting Canterbury in a few weeks time, does anyone know of any EB connections? I know there is (or at least used to be) a Chaucer attraction.

I don't know of any Enid connection with Canterbury but there is a Canterbury Tales visitor
attraction where you get a flavour of the world created by Chaucer. Hope you enjoy your visit
and let us know if you find any connection with Enid!

I was just browsing through the forums and stumbled across this one. It was lovely to re-read all the comments after last year's EB Day. With all this rotten cold weather at the moment, it was just what I needed to warm me up. I know the weather on the day wasn't particuarly brilliant, but the warmth of the welcome on the day compensated for any clouds in sky.

It's a shame there isn't another day this year, although I do hope the gathering at Beckenham will take place, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I shall be able to attend. However, even if the worse happens and there are no more EB days, I'm just grateful that I managed to attend one, it will always be one of those extra special events that happen every so often in life.

I too often go back to the E.B. Days threads and also look at the write up on the Home Page and the photos that are posted on there of previous days. It always takes me back to the day in question that I'm looking at, if I attended of course. I guess I just love looking back! :)
