I think Ming's referring the fact that the Beast had a rose that when the last petal feel from it, he would die.
"You're so sharp you'll cut yourself one day!" Hunchy said going to the door
"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

Or, when you Disney-fy it, if he couldn't learn to love another, and earn their love in turn before the last petal fell, he'd be stuck as a beast forever.
"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Oh, thanks for clearing the waters! I only meant that Beauty and the Beast was more applicable than Zaidi's remark that we were both beautiful. Heaven forbid that I should be in love with Ming!

Hmm, let's look at the evidence:

We argue
Ming is always right
I usually give way in the end
We share a mutual understanding
We have separate rooms
She finds out everything (well, nearly everything) that I do
We laugh together
We cry together
We have looked at the Stones on Salisbury Plain together
We share a love of Enid Blyton
We are whom we are.

Marriage?

Ice cream, you decide!

Though we marry as adults, we don't marry adults. We marry children who have grown up and still rejoice in being children, especially if we're creative.
