General Journal Natter

Just a quick apology that although Journal 64 has already been at the printers for a fortnight, it looks as if it may be another week or more until I get it back. I deliberately hadn't posted its contents, although I finished it a while back, as I was trying to avoid getting more posts before I send it out than there are after it arrives! I am happy to show the cover however.

What a lovely autumnal scene! I look forward to seeing the next journal when it eventually arrives - always worth the wait. :)

The cover looks stunning - I can't place the illustrator/story at first glance.
A guess would be Shadow The Sheepdog??

It's a colour plate from 'The First Holiday Book' (1946) by the wonderful Grace Lodge (my top fave EB illustrator!)

It's not illustrating any particular story - just part of the changing seasons as depicted in each colour plate in this book. :-)

I'm a big fan of the colour plates in the Holiday books - always so artistic and well worth looking at. Grace Lodge is one of the best. I've yet to see a bad illustration drawn by her, either black and white or colour! :-D

A beautiful cover. Grace Lodge is a favourite of mine too. Sorry the printers are taking their time, Tony, but we know from past issues that the Journal will be well worth the wait!

Thank you, Tony. Hope you will get them sooner rather than later! :D

Wonderful choice of cover Tony. As others have said the journal is always worth the wait so no problem if it’s a little behind schedule.

I'm sure in 'the old days' the Journal never used to be out until around 22 November...though I could be wrong. :-)

When I see the illustration, I have a deja vu that the same illustration had been posted and discussed before!

If the cover produces 15 posts, think what the contents will provide.
