There's no need to watch it, Nigel, you could also read the excellent TV-novelizations of this series.

Incidentally, we watched Secret of Moon Castle (Cloud 9) yesterday - my grandson chose it. I wonder why Jack Trent left the Mannering household and skipped over to the Arnolds to be adopted? The plot also seemed to pinch some ideas from Mountain of Adventure, with people thinking they could fly after drinking the potion!

My grandson wanted to know why the girl was called Piggy. We had to explain that that was how people from New Zealand spoke. :)

A lot! :D

The series is certainly not as strong as the Adventure Series, but The Secret Mountain is pretty good imo.

Another good read. The article on favourite book covers got me thinking what would my choices be. I liked
most of the ones mentioned, but it's not something I've thought about much. "Five get into trouble" comes to
mind and "Secret Seven on the trail".
The final part of Anne's diary was different too and nostalgic in a sense. A realistic look back into the distant past.
Nice to be up to date again.
