Journal 62

Post by Rob Houghton »

:-D Journal 62 is in The Cave at last! ;-)

Looks great - with a nice springtime cover - and some interesting articles.

I'm looking forward to 'Anne Kirrin's Diary' by Ilsa - and the Noddy Chivers corner.

Then there's 'The Ones That Got Away' by Tony - intriguing! And lots of other interesting sounding articles, including 'Tales of Long Ago' by Anita. . :-D
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

I think Tony only puts it up on the Journal page when he's sent them out, these days, so he doesn't get people constantly asking when its arriving, lol!

The first article I had to read was, Daisy's - Anne Kirrin's Diary. What a great piece of imaginative writing, so very well done, Daisy. I loved reading it, and can't wait to read part two. Sadly I'll have too

I think it's fabulous when Enid's stories has one thinking outside the box back to where it all began as it were.

Can't praise it enough. Such a refreshing change to read something totally different in the Journal. :D

I will go back and read the rest now. :)

Sorry you haven't received your Journal yet, Daisy. I also turned to Anne Kirrin's Journal straight after reading Tony's Editorial - and I loved it too. What beautifully-written diary entries, convincing and gripping. Like Julie, I'm impatient for Part 2!

I chuckled at Tony's comment in his Editorial about the picture showing him looking "rather grumpy" at taking part in the London Marathon!

What a stunning cover with all the daffodils!
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

I am looking forward to reading all the articles especially Ilsa's Anne Kirrin's Diary and The Ones That Got Away by Tony. She's not the regular contributor and I want to read Tony's first fiction. I assume it's a fiction by the sound of the title. :D

Mind you, we hardly ever have post on a Thursday. We hardly ever have post on a Tuesday either. On Wednesday I received three parcels and several letters/junk mail, all bundled up with an elastic band. I'm sure they save it until they have a certain amount. I find it very annoying! :x

I'm not sure, but I very much doubt that Tony's article called 'The Ones That got Away' is fiction...unless you're talking about Iisa's diary piece? I'm a bit confused! :?

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

You are quite right, it isn't!

In answer to your earlier question, yes, I deliberately didn't put it on the website any earlier as I was trying to avoid yet again having more comments before the Journal arrived than after!! The Journal came back from the printers on Monday after three weeks there and I took it to the post office on Monday afternoon, but knew they wouldn't post it out until Tuesday. Knowing that some would arrive today I put it onto the website yesterday afternoon. I actually finished it apart from the editorial (written on Valentine's Day!) in early February, so I have rather forgotten what is in it myself - my memory is not what it was!!
