No, I'm still here, I have just been watching two episodes of Moondial. We are seeing the same person, Rob, others may be missing it because they are looking at it too closely. Get a bit away from it and you can see the profile clearly. I don't really drink from a bottle, it is always just a glass and it is always just water in it! He looks quite sinister but if I look through glimpsing eyes I feel he has a mohican rather than being bald!

Well I can see what you mean now, but I couldn't see it at first. It looks more like Scarface to me!

I still reckon it's Bill having a bad hair(less) day.

Julie, the wide, black collar of that little figure on the right is basically the eyebrow of the man's face.
Below that you can make out his nose and mouth with a little imagination.

That's also why I posted the comparison with the picture of Bill — the facial expression is similar, but the "face" in the cover illustration is in profile, facing straight to the right. I couldn't see it at first either, but then suddenly it came clear.

Now Chrissie has explained I can see a sort of face, not Bill's just an outline of a face.

That's how I see it Julie... just a face, but not at all "Bill".

He also resembles those grumpy farmers in the FF series, Courtenay.

Could be, yes. I don't think it looks exactly like Bill, by the way — that was just the nearest resemblance I could think of in a Blyton illustration. He's too thin-faced and grumpy-looking for Bill, really.

That's pretty cool, Pete. Maybe you could do an illustrated guide to Coats of Arms of Famous Blyton Characters and offer it to Tony for Journal 61??

(Now I wonder what coat of arms we could have for the Kirrins... or the Secret Seven... or Noddy... )
