My Journal arrived in the week. I turned to the middle first to look at the colour illustrations / book covers. It's become my favourite part of the Journal.
Looking forward to reading the rest of it!

A fine journal which I enjoyed reading. I found the Enid at School article particularly interesting and it was good to learn more about Lacrosse!

It was great to read that Ted Francis felt so passionately about the violent content of some TV made for children that he ploughed in so much of his own money to get the filming of an Enid Blyton story made and actually onto our screens.
I also liked that piece. Nice to get the background details. And good for him.

Yes the arrival of a new Journal usually makes everyone's day around here. Glad you're enjoying it. :D

I have to say I haven't even thought about it yet, but it will actually be my 50th Journal. I did actually redo the first ten to make sure they all had contents pages (none did originally) and also gave eight of them colour covers, but I can only claim to have done the next 49 entirely on my own. I am sure there is somebody out there eagerly waiting to do the next 50!

That was my thought too John. It seems impossible that this year is 10 issues later... Time certainly seems to race by these days.

Tony, you do such a splendid job it would be hard for anyone to match it! Putting together 50-60 issues of the Journal (and hopefully many more! :) ) is a real achievement. Checking the contributions and deciding on the order is just the tip of the iceberg - there's also finding and scanning illustrations, selecting uncollected material written by Enid Blyton and typing it up, writing the editorial and contents page and sometimes other pieces too, dealing with subscriptions and keeping records (subscriptions trickle in a few at a time and it's an ongoing job for Tony keeping on top of them all), getting the Journals printed, preparing the envelopes for sending out (including relevant enclosures), taking them to the post office, responding to queries... All I can say is that the Journal is a fantastic work of art as well as entertaining and informative, and is greatly appreciated. I often read and refer to back issues. Excellent value for money too! Thanks so much, Tony! :D

Kind, but a bit OTT, Anita! It sounds a bit like a 'golden handshake', with the announcement of the new editor coming next!
