I don't have to until after Journal no. 60.

I have no idea, Nigel.

As I said to someone the other day, any Society member (i.e. Journal subscriber) can add the 'Society Member' tag to their signature if they like.

Go to User Control Panel (top left of page), then Profile, then Edit Signature.

Copy and paste the following code into the signature panel. I think you then have to press "submit" or something similar. By the way, I've used curly brackets after the first b and after the FF - otherwise the code will take effect in this post. After copying and pasting, those two curly brackets should be changed to square brackets before submitting.

Alternatively, let me know if you want me to add it for you!

Nigel, on my screen sixret has "Society Member" written at the bottom of her post.

That's because she added the signature by now, Chrissie. Once it's added it's shows with every post of the user. It's the same with your avatar - once you changed it, all posts will have the new avatar, even the older ones.

Hi Anita, if you could add it for me I'd be grateful, doesn't seem to work when I do it.

Thanks

'Tis done, Nick! :D It was just a question of turning the two curly brackets into square brackets.

Although we are still in May I am now down to a handful (yes, five!) of copies of Journal 59 and if anybody is reading this who hasn't yet resubscribed, you would be advised to do so in the very near future.

When I am working out the size of a print run I cannot take into account people who are very late with their resubscription - some after one or two years who have missed the last three or four Journals, but still don't want to buy any of the back issues that they have missed. As I have got stuck in the past with numerous copies of some back issues which is a drain on the Society's finances, I am now far more frugal with my print runs!
As my post from a few days ago got quickly buried I have posted it again and just to update Journal 59 is now sold out. It only survived as long as it did as the printers sent me 10 extra copies, normally they just send the exact number.

Any new subscribers will now have to wait a month for Journal 60 - very unfortunate but down to the late resubscribers for 59!

As soon as my finals were over I picked up Journal 59 and I started reading it quaint little cafes around New York. Robert, I really enjoyed the opening article! I've never read the story but it seems like such a lighthearted tale. The discussion on marriage was most interesting. I didn't think such a lot could be gleaned from just one line.

As usual, I loved the illustrations. I was showing them to my teacher, who had never heard of Enid Blyton before, but she too was most captivated by the drawings. She thought they were beautiful and vintage.

I haven't read all of the Journal yet. I have a very long flight ahead of me in two segments so I thought I would relax and finish the Journal on the first leg, and then study on the second.

Thank you! :-D. Really pleased you enjoyed it! :-D. The article seems to have been a popular one, maybe because its a book many people have never read. You're in for a treat with Journal 59 as it really was one of the best Journals ever, with some brilliant articles and subjects! :-D
