As soon as the pre-Christmas stress will be over, I will indulge in looking at the illustrations (is there actually a synonym for illustrations...I don't like using the same word in three sentences in a row  ).
The illustration on page 32 in EBS # 58 reminded me a lot of the FF illustrations. The blonde girl on the far left looks like Anne and the boy in front of the window has George's curly hair.
Eileen Soper only illustrated "The Secret of Killimooin". E.M.Davie illustrated the first two on the series. (Information in the cave.)

You have saved me posting here, Daisy! I was simply going to say that the five books had four different illustrators. It could be one of the reasons why it is one of the less popular series.

Thank you Tony and Daisy. That is indeed interesting. Did anybody ever find out why?

A fine journal, very seasonal too. An article or 2 a night over the Christmas period made for a great holiday read.
The Book Wrapper illustration in the centre pages was attractive and well done.

The index has been updated up to the latest journal.

Many thanks for that, I'm sure I use your index more than most, I find it very helpful, especially when I am working on a new Journal which is something I am doing now.

I've not yet read the entire Journal, only some articles. First of all, the cover is excellent, really gives you a Christmassy feel. I only wished I'd subscribed earlier, during Christmas time. Anyways, the article on Stuart Tresilian is great, I didn't know anything about him, except that he was a Blyton Illustrator. I also like Julie's article on Snubby, and I share many of her views. As for Anita's article on Killimooin, I can see where many of her recent posts on the Readathon have come from! 'What happened over the wall' is an excellent short story that I quite enjoyed. Poppy's article is very well written as well!

I felt the same way. This is my favorite journal so far. It contained more articles on my favorite suspenseful EB series than the others before. Just great :)!!!
