"Journal 35 has left the building" - another one bites the dust!

There are four words missing - 'my room and read' - I will leave readers to discover where. I put this down to a slightly dodgy scanning programme, which for reasons best known to itself sometimes leaves out a few words when converting to editable text. The editor who normally spots these things must also take the blame, he has not been sacked on this occasion, but he has been officially warned!

just looked at the contents page on the 'Journal' section of the site - an interesting and mouth-watering mix of articles. looking forward to it! :D

The content just seems to get better with each issue! :P :P

What prize do we get for spotting the 'deliberate mistake'?!

Yey! Just received my 'Enid Blyton Journal 35' through the letter box - it's packed full of even more goodies than usual.

After just a quick scan I think Anita's 'Red Roofs' article will be one of the many hi-lights (it's my favourite family book) and the article written by Gillian is very interesting, as is the article (part 2) by Terry Gustafson. But I can't really single anything out - it's all good stuff!

Well done to all those who contributed :D :D :D

Trouble is, now i'll get nothing done until I've read it cover to cover!

Hurrah, my copy has also arrived and, to echo Robert's words, it looks like a bumper issue indeed. I've so far just read the editorial and Denis T Worley's excellent Secret Seven article but the table of contents promises many other fine pieces to get stuck into. Like Robert I shall get little done until I've been able to settle in and read the lot. :D

Here's another happy recipient of Journal 35 - good bedtime reading tonight, if I haven't already read most of it by then! Thank you Tony.

That would be poor old Barney, wouldn't it?!

You'll be glad to know that I've got my Journal too, Daisy, so I won't have to resort to peering over your shoulder this time! :) Cheers, Tony!

Yes, I'm afraid that Barney's eyesight is not what it was!

In his younger days he was a star and even featured on some Royal Mail stamps.

Like his owner, quite a bit of grey has crept in now!

Received mine today Tony, just read so far the article by Gillian Baverstock. What a lovely read that was. The love for her Mother just flowed from the written word. It was so enlightening. What a contrast to when I read Imogens book, A Childhood At Greenhedges.
Julian gave an exclamation and nudged George.
"See that? It's the black Bentley again. KMF 102!"

My First Addtition of the Journal was waiting for me when I got home!! :D

Suddenly the whole day seems brighter!! :D Can't wait to read it!!!
"You're so sharp you'll cut yourself one day!" Hunchy said going to the door
"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

I like the Barney stamps!

I've got the Secret Seven card game featured on the back cover of the Journal and I love the card showing Enid Blyton in the shed, being greeted by the Secret Seven and Scamper! Funny that the shed is labelled "the hut" in the game, as I don't think it's ever called that in the books?

Barney may feature on stamps but he can't lick them yet!

If only I had trained him better he might have been able to answer the phone for me, I have had to take the phone off the hook to post this message as it has rung incessantly all morning - I have got nothing done at all.

Reason - the press screening of the new F5 cartoon took place yesterday and if I get a chance I will try to post some links later (in the right place!). I have even had a few phone calls with people asking to speak to Viv Endecott of the Enid Blyton Society, but I have searched the house and can't find you anywhere, Viv!
