I still don't think the sales figures will stay up, once the novelty has worn off. I'd be surprised if the second batch of planned books is as popular as the first batch.

Interestingly, I’m not even sure these Enid Blyton Christmas books are meant to be read. They are more comedy gifts for bringing a smile to someone’s face as they open a present. They are products, merchandise for Christmas, not books to be treasured.

Going by what I've seen when I opened my copy of 'Five On Brexit Island' I would say they aren't meant to be read as well!!!

What sort of a world do we live in now where people would just buy a book so someone can chuckle at its cover and then never read the contents?! That's life in 2017!!

Thinking about it, the "Mother's Day" book might not fit other countries' customs because "Mother's Day" in Britain is really "Mothering Sunday" and is celebrated in March. Many other countries have Mother's Day at a different time of the year, with May being particularly popular. Relatives from Morocco have sometimes phoned to wish me "Happy Mother's Day" in May because that's when it's celebrated there.

Incidentally, I love Timmy on the cover. It looks as though he's drinking a mug of coffee!

A few of us I think. I have the Brexit book but only read about two pages, as its just so boring.

I know in America Mothers Day is also much later than in UK...I think that is in May also. It's an odd choice for an adult Famous Five, but it sort of proves they are just simply cashing in - on brexit, on pregnancy, on gluten free diets and on various times of the year when they hope people will buy the books as a laugh. Just a quick buck, you buy them like a greetings card and then throw them in the recycling. The publishers don't mind as long as they can pimp out Enid's name to make a profit...but I'm not sure how long these will make a profit to be honest.

I had a quick read of one (can't remember which), in WHSmith. The time it wasted was bad enough without actually paying for it too. Seemed dull, predictable and juvenile.
