Really, the only way of getting the original text and illustrations is to buy pre-1960 editions - and even then I think some of the illustrations may be missing!

Of course once the copyright expires on Enid's books in a few years time, we can start badgering Tony to publish an "Official Enid Blyton Society Complete Collected Works", with copious illustrations, and all gollliwogs and other 'Un-PC' content lovingly restored!

Quite impressive but I suspect not too many early editions included. Who's the 'bird' on your avatar, Pete? I recognised you immediately. :wink:

thank you for your answers. I have already some Blyton HB with DJ of 1970.
And I own the 1st editions in French
Does someone collect the old UK editions in PDF? It's interesting for the searchs in the texts.

Yes, it's the French 1st edition (1956) of "Five On Kirrin Island Again". The clue was the telescope. :D

I love the depiction of the children - but hate the depiction of Timmy - he looks too comical! :-) Lovely colours though. :D

I don't have many Rfrench Famous Five editions, but they do have some nice colour illustrations in them. I am sorry you don't like the depiction of Dagobert, Rob!
