Yeah I've always imagined them to be washing in their bedrooms too, we know Joan certainly does because in Fall Into Adventure there's a passage describing how she doesn't wake up Jo (who is sleeping on the couch in Joan's room) even though she (Joan) is 'scurrying about the room washing and dressing'.

That might be, Nigel, but I always feel as if I'm getting scolded for answering a few posts. It might be the language barrier.

I often feel like that, Chrissie, and I can't blame the language barrier, either!

Thanks, Julie.
I would like to apologize to all. Today is just a very bad day for me with our dog Cody. We can't teach him to finally stop biting/nipping (at) us and when André is at work, the dog takes advantage of it and misbehaves ten times as badly.
On Saturday we went for the first time to Puppy Kindergarten and the day before I said to my husband that I'm not willing to wait for another week or two before the dog trainer finally starts talking about what to do about that awful nipping/biting behavior (this is going on now for 25 days...getting worse instead of getting less...and they feel more like 25 months to me). But we ended up doing exactly that (waiting), because the trainer will develop her stop biting strategy slowly from week to week starting on 10th of January.
Can't wait to finally see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry to hear that, Chrissie.

You're doggy is probably teething, and needs to chew and bite. Can you give him something to chew on like a chewy puppy bone, it may help.

Sorry to go off topic, folks.

I'm sorry you've been having a hard time, training Cody, Chrissie. That's just because he is so young, you know: he won't be like that forever. I think it is important to discourage it, but it's also important to understand that's it is their mischievous way of play, whilst they are young (or he could be teething, as Julie said). Here are some links to some articles, which offer instructions and methods to calm the puppy down:

Julie, on order to not go off topic even more, I'll try to find the threads "Pets" or another General natter thread and will answer you there.

Chrissie, "Pets" is under General Natter on the main forum page (the one you first come to), if you scroll down towards the bottom.

Sorry to hear you're having so much bother with Cody, but he is still a puppy, and it sounds like he probably is teething - I'm sure he will learn, as long as you're firm but also patient with him. :D

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Chrissie, I think it's a bit rich of old Mr. 'sixteen-and-a-half-thousand-posts-and-counting' to admonish you for posting too often, even if it was a little tongue in cheek! :)

Hi Courtenay,

Thank you for your kind words. You are right, Cody is still a puppy and there are moments during each day when he's so cute that we know it's worth all the trouble he's causing us right now.
My husband is actually the patient one of the two of us, but even his patience has limits. I never saw him loose his patience in the previous 8 years since we are together, but he did a few times.

Believe it or not, today was one of those few times when my search on EBS got rewarded and I found the "Pets" thread.

Haha, he made mine too!

In case the 'language barrier' has intervened, it was just an observation, Chrissie, not an 'admonishment'!
