The big story is that I didn't buy a book despite seeing 16 early copies of the Adventure Series books. Quite amazing!

I know - I woke up this morning feeling hot and feverish. Still I can't keep on buying copies of these books or Izzy would never smile again.

Oh dear — torn between his book collection and his wife's happiness... Don't worry, Francis, I think you made the right decision, hard though it was.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Do you have a secret room hidden somewhere in your house that Izzy doesn't know about, filled with shelves piled with various editions of The Adventure series books?

I bought a near mint copy of The Famous Five Annual 1997 for £1 in a charity shop this afternoon:

Eddie, that's a good deal!
I paid much more when I ordered it a few years ago.

I must admit that I'd never seen it before, Chrissie, and so I was really pleased to find a copy at such a bargain price.
