Goodness! What can one possibly say to that except "Gug Gug Nunc Nunc"?! :o
I bet Tony's glad he didn't have to organise those!

I joined the F5 club just prior to the screening of the 70's F5 TV series. I still have my badge, membership card & other info that came with it. The info included a fact sheet for the Birthday's of the Marcus, Gary, Michele & Jennifer (Although they got Jenny's Wrong!), along with printed autograph photos. I've even got the original envelope that they came in! :D

My 1975 pre tv series pack didn't have all those extras.
Would be lovely to see a scan/pic of all your club documents and envelope if at possible?

Regards

I remember having the badge but I can't remember joining the club so I assume my mother joined me. Sadly, I haven't had the badge for years.

I remember a group of girls at my junior school were in the Famous Five club, and used to bring Famous Five paperbacks to school to swap with each other. Sadly, I was never a member - but then I had very little interest in the Famous Five as a child. Only ever read two Five books.

I'll warm me with your echoes

I had the 1978 TV series tie in books and each one had an advert for the club. I'd have joined it - I joined a lot of things in those days, fan clubs for Nookie bear and Roland Rat, Dennis the Menace and Desperate Dan - but a line in the ad unnerved me.

Your gifts will be used to comfort sick children in hospital.

What gifts? I thought. They expect me to send gifts? How often? I only get 50p a week pocket money. And that doesn't get me much more than a paperback a week. If I have to buy gifts, I'd have no money at all. No books!!!

So I never joined. I would have done, had it not been for that sentence. And I bet loads of kids never sent gifts. I know that now, but aged 8-11 I didn't and would've worried.

I've not the means to scan things, bet I'll get my Brother to do it for me. It may take a while, as he's a busy graphic designer! :D

It's great seeing that membership card and badge, as it is from a similar time to the days when I remember people being Famous Five members - 1978 - 1980. For some weird reason I have a strong memory of seeing Famous Five badges that were yellow with a brown design on them - exactly like the blue one but yellow and brown - but I've looked everywhere online and can't find any reference to them. For years I'd thought 1970's FF badges were yellow - but I see I was mistaken! No idea what badge I saw back then! :?
