The dear little dog in the original edition was called Sandy. Alas the dog's new name is Russet.
Katie and Nick who are brother and sister called Robin and Betty in the original book become orphans and have been adopted by Laura's parents. She is Lucy in the original story and Peter and Betty's cousin.

In both the original and the new updated version the American boy does not speak American dialogue.

Still a good read. One I am reading to my great niece and nephew.
As its open season for name changes. I will put them in the story. They can be Peter and Betty. Sandy is a better name than Russet anyway.
First invention. To have an air disaster in which Kit's father goes missing. A flight over the Andes should do it.
