No! Its on my shelf (next to the Children's Life of Christ, as a matter-of-fact! :-)

If so, they've essentially republished the original set of three Bible story / Bible-based fable books, which is nice. :)
I'm afraid that I don't have copies of those two books which is why the contents are not listed in the Cave.

I haven't seen them in print, but the "Look Inside" option on Amazon allows you to see the contents pages and some excerpts from them: Noah's Ark and Other Bible Stories and The First Christmas and Other Bible Stories

Going by what I can see of the beginning of The First Christmas, it's definitely not the same as The Children's Life of Christ — it's a much shorter retelling of the Nativity story and I assume it's been taken from a different version of it by Enid. Aha, I just thought to look at the publication data page — for both books, it says:
These stories were first published by Macmillan Ltd in 1949, as part of The Enid Blyton Bible Stories Series, and reissued by Grafton Books in 1986 as Enid Blyton's Bible Stories.
So these are the original series they're taken from: Old Testament Bible Stories and New Testament Bible Stories Presumably the two new books don't include all the stories and may have been edited along the way, but now we know where they were first published. :)

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Well done Pauline and Courtenay! :D

You may have it already, Courtenay but I would like to add a book to Rob's suggestion. You may want to buy A Story Book of Jesus published by MacMillan in 1956. First edition with dust jacket is very difficult to get and pricey. I bought it from Stella & Rose recently to replace my copy of first edition without dust jacket.

or paperback edition which is very cheap.

Of all three books, A Book of Jesus is the best, in my opinion.

Vary rarely is there an Enid Blyton book in my local charity shop, but I went to post a copy of the Yellow Story Book yesterday and on my way back happened to glance into the window of the Red Cross, where I spotted a copy of The Family at Red Roofs in a dustwrapper for £4. Both book and wrapper is in good tidy condition and it will replace my non-jacketed version nicely :D .

Today "In the Fifth at Malory Towers" arrived, I suppose it's the second reprint from 1955. No DJ, and it seems one page was torn away (right at the beginning, part of the drawing of MT), but apart of that it looks okay.

I'm sure it is still a nice copy to own. Well done, Wolfgang! :D

Today arrived the film-novelisation of the last German St Clare's film. Let's see when I'll find the time to read it...

Pauline wrote:Ah, thank you Chrissie. Nice. I like the story when little friend Susan stays over-night and Muvver bakes them potatoes with their lids on for tea. Also the Booby Rabbit and when the rest of the family decorate the attic in order to make a bedroom for MMM as a special surprise. It's so funny.
Pauline, the attic story is lovely. Finally MMM gets her own space. 8)

I was wondering whether to buy 'The Secret of Spiggy Holes' last week in Alton. A large book with no date although '1942' was pencilled in. The illustrations looked nice but it was £18 so I have left it for now. I have no idea what is a good price for this book.

It mainly depends on whether it had a dust wrapper or not. With a dust wrapper that would have been very cheap - without one, it would have been around the right price for the date, in my experience. 8)

I agree, Rob. If it had a dustwrapper, Francis, I would be hot-footing it back to Alton.

Sounds like a good price to me, Francis. 8)
If I remember correctly, I paid 20 £ for my old hardcover "Secret Island" copy which seemed a good price to me compared with eBay and amazon.co.uk prices at the time.
