An excellent letter, Disha. Five Go Off in a Caravan is indeed an excellent book: the description in this particular Famous Five story is, in my opinion, the best in the series.

Enid's first book was a selection of poems called Child Whispers and was published in 1922, which means Enid was 25 when her first book was published. Enid described that her inspiration behind her stories was rather like watching her own private cinema screen in her head. So it was like watching the story unfold in her imagination and what she saw she wrote.

I agree that Five Go Off in a Caravan is one of the best Famous Five books as the opening chapters are beautifully dreamy and relaxing, and once the adventure gets underway it's very exciting indeed.
