Hello Tamzin, what a beautiful letter! Sadly Enid Blyton passed away in 1968, but hopefully I can answer some of your questions for you:

Amelia Jane was actually the name of one of Enid's daughters' rag dolls. It was a big golden haired doll and Enid used to make it be naughty in front of her guests. This of course was her inspiration for the magnificent Amelia Jane stories. There is a picture in Enid Blyton's autobiography of the doll.

Enid's favourite book as a child was The Princess and the Goblin by George Macdonald, but perhaps you mean what was Enid's favourite book of all those that she wrote? If so, I don't know.
"Beware of young men with long hair - that's what dad says, isn't it?"
Pat, Holiday House

A lovely letter, Tamzin. Enid Blyton didn't say which of her own books was her favourite, but she said her favourite character was George from the Famous Five series.
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

That's a lovely letter from Tamsin. A nice bright border too. :)
