Yes, it's a bit confusing when you watch the Trouble episode. We naturally assume that all the filming was done at Exbury, apart from those shot at Lymington quay. You have to thank Gary, for it was he who pointed out where the gates were located! I had totally forgot that I'd previously walked past them on a few occasions, en-route to Sowley pond. Although I did think they looked a tad familiar at the time, I never twigged they were used in the episode! Doh!

I knew about the Queens head's connection with the Smugglers at Burley, & I had heard about tunnels underneath the pub, but I had no idea they ran to Burley Manor! It's a shame they're blocked up....or are they really? 8)

One for Onkel Quentin. I'm sure he'll remember the two friendly dogs during his visit to Blackwater House (Kirrin Cottage) in May! I was in danger of being licked to death! :D

Two views of the Tower at Burley Manor, where the devious Block signalled from in Smugglers Top. Quite an unusual angle on the bottom pic! :D

Three views of Dancing Ledge in Dorset. The rock where Yan stood on in Go down to the sea. The tide was on the turn & the sea was getting a bit rough. No sign of Yan, though! :D

Thanks, Number 6. It's great to see the "Owl's Dene" gates and "Yan's rock". That's a lovely picture of Blackwater House with the two dogs.

Three pics of the Britannia B&B in Lymington Town, which doubled as the 'Police Station' in the Trouble episode. These have clarity compared to those I posted previously. They show the building in great detail. Apologises for posting again. :D

The side road on the left, is where Richard is chased by Mr Perton.

And where the Police car was parked outside the fictional Police station.

Two close up pics of the lovely Roydon Manor near Brockenhurst, which doubled as 'Old Towers' in the Get into a fix episode. :D

Decoy Pond Farm, which doubled as Capt Johnson's house in the Mystery Moor episode!

The view from Decoy Pond farmhouse looking across the Heath to the Beaulieu road Car Park (Trees in background on right) by the Beaulieu road B3056. One of the Mystery Moor galloping scenes was shot here by the side of the DPF driveway. It was also where Jennifer is seen on horseback in the first part of her opening titles scene. The second took place at Gatewood bridge area. The distinctive trees seen in the background are still recognisable today.

Slightly off-topic, but a timely reminder that Dancing Ledge has been reputed as the inspiration behind the Malory Towers swimming pool.

Oooh yes, you're right! I think I read about it in Viv's 'Dorset days of Enid Blyton', bit I'm not 100% sure. If I remember correctly, the pool was created by the local quarrymen on the request of the Headmaster, who taught at a Boys School in Langton Matravers. Don't quote me on this, but I think the Boys had to swim naked! Not my cup of tea, especially on cold days! Interesting post, Moonraker. :D

Here's a photo of the Pool at Dancing Ledge, which I took several years ago! The pool is refreshed with seawater which each tide, as seen below. It's roughly about 12-15ft long & 5ft wide. I did bathe in it a few times, but it was a bit nippy to say the least!

The cliffs at Dancing Ledge, seen behind Yan during his speech about the Wreckers Cave in the Down to the sea episode! :D
* Notice the Pool on the ledge (bottom right) now filling up with the incoming tide! As Moonraker pointed out, it's reputed to be the inspiration for the rocky pool in Malory Towers! :D

And still pics from Down to the Sea....
