Absolutely! Watching the series as kids, we were oblivious to the minor details in the background...& probably didn't care. As adults, though, we tend to scrutinise things & pick up on the smallest of detail.

Re: TV locations for the Famous Five series
As children viewing the series in the 1970s most of us could only watch each episode once, of course. Now the episodes are available on video and DVD we can watch them again and again, making it much easier to take in all the little details.

That's a good point, Anita! I think you've summed it up nicely.

I'm glad you have confirmed that Gary as I thought it was Windsor castle but had 2nd thoughts it can't be because of all the NF locations!!Gary Russell wrote:Yeah stock footage - like that bizarre shot of Eton/Windsor Castle as the train pulls into Kirrin Station in Together Again

The 'other' side of Gatewood Bridge, where the caravans were sited in Five go off in a caravan. Is anyone imagining a red Hampshire bus coming over the bridge, & the Five running to meet it?

Re: TV locations for the Famous Five series
Well, it's only about 2miles from Exbury village, Julie. If you wanted to, you could coincide a visit when the meet-up happens... assuming it goes ahead, that is! There are also about 5 other locations that are very close by to Exbury & can be visited with ease. For example, Lepe farm (Five go off to camp) seen below, en-route to Lepe House.
