I'm so pleased I spoke to you number, 6. I used to try and speak to everyone I met, especially if they were on the forums. But as you say, I cannot bring you facially to mind. It was such a lovely day that I do remember, and made even more special with Julie Davis being there, Gary Russell of course, and Marcus. :D

Me too. I have always regretted not chatting to Rob, who for reasons best known to him, kept his head well down!

Into the New Forest on Monday, starting with Decoy Pond farm & on to Roydon Manor. Hopefully, Mr Sunshine will come out to play for a while! Plenty trips planned, but all are subject to the weather...or whether I can get out of bed!! I need to start replacing the photos of the locations that I've lost. It'll be be a big ask, as there's quite a lot to replace! :|

The 2 week nocturnal wildlife studies, which I'm doing in Dorset, go on each night till about 1 in the morning, so it gives little time to get some shut-eye before I'm back up at 5am to get ready to travel to the NF & the F5 TV locations :| That's dedication for you... or plain stupidity! I think it's the latter!!!!

Sounds like a hectic but very enjoyable (though exhausting!) schedule, Number 6! Hope all goes well!

Thanks Anita! Yes, it'll be enjoyable.. & certainly very hectic. However, I'm used to running about like a mad thing, so it won't bother me too much! :D

Thanks O.Q. but I very much doubt I'll be getting new photos this time round. I'll be concentrating on taking photos of the locations that I once had, but accidently lost! It's a bit like going over old ground! :|

Which place did they use as the common and was the ruined house built by the TV production company or was there already a ruined house/barn that they were able to use?
It's one of my favorite FF books.
The Ponds & the archaeology site used by the twins were filmed at Exbury. As for the common & ruined house, I can't remember. I did have notes on these locations, but they've been lost for some time. I rely heavily on my notes to jog my memory. Maybe Gary Russell will remember where these places are located. :D
Thanks, number 6, I'm hoping Gary Russell will tell us more. 8)
Sadly no, I have no paperwprk for Secret Trail at all, so couldn't tell you where the house is/was. It was in the middle of nowhere, accessed via a long windy drive I seem to recall. There was a huge field nearby where I did my Season 1 postcard photo session that ended up with me getting my subsequent lifelong terror of cows!! A stupid fear I know, but sadly, a real one.

Not a stupid fear at all, Gary. I too have a fear of cows, and if I am walking through a field for a short cup, and spot any cows, I turn around and avoid them at all cost and go the long way round.

Evening all..!! I've tracked down the Police Station in Five get into trouble! It's not changed too much over the years. The street paving outside the front door has been replaced, one of the mailboxes has gone & the door handles are also history. The doors are the same. The stone slab below the doorstep slopes from left to right as seen in the episode & the sides of the outer walls (doorway) have been repainted. The railings & small wall to the left of the building are still there, too. The white building opposite, that you see in the episode, was demolished to make way for the boat yard that replaced it. The 'Police Station' is now a lovely B&B called Britannia. It's situated on Station street opposite Lymington town railway station car park. :D
