Famous Five '78 series Memorabilia - UPDATED 130507 Page 3

Post by George@Kirrin »

I thought I might share with you some of the more rare items that I've collected relating to the '78 series of the Famous Five.

I'll add pictures as I take them, but start with a few that are already on my computer.

The badges - 8 in the set,

Image

The audio cassettes, hard to find now, not even listened to these yet - saving them for when I'm up to date with my work (the voices aren't those of the '78 series, just the cover)

A couple of German items, the sticker...

And the Panini sticker pack - I also have the album (well, 5 of them  ) and will upload that at a later date, I also have the box that the stickers were displayed in the shop in.

Image

The colouring book is rare to get, especially finding one that no brat has attacked with crayons.

Image

By far one of my favourite pieces is the Spanish game cube

Image

Which has 6 different pictures inside

It's quite easy to pick up the Look in Magazines relating to the series, such as this one

Image

But you probably won't have seen this - the original artwork from which the cover was made, my latest addition to my collection

Image

I have masses more in my collection but hope you've enjoyed it so far.

Wow - I didn't even know that most of those items existed! The original artwork is simply fabulous, Zoe!

What a lovely collection! It's amazing how quickly things date - they all seem so "vintage"!

That collection looks fantastic. Well done for getting it all. How does the Spanish Game Cube work? Is it like a Rubix Cube?

Absolutely great, George! Congratulations. :D

But for a German it's not quite easy to find any of the Look In Magazines.
I'd like to possess the issue with pictures of the children disguised as a dancer (Jennifer) or skateboarder (Marcus) and short quotes of them beside.

@ lucky star: I suppose it's more a cube game than a game cube. You just have to put the 12 cubes together until one of the 6 pictures is complete.

Oh Zoe, you got the Arnold Puzzi artwork. I came quite close to outbidding you on ebay for that but I'm glad it went to a good, appreciative home.

It's 12 cubes and on each face of each cube is a part of the picture for each of the 6 scenes...

I'll have to photograph some more of my collection :)

The artlicle with the famous five all dressed up is on ebay at the moment.
It's the TV Times with Tommy Cooper on the front. The seller has it up for £17.00 though. However it was one of my most entertaining finds of the famous five.

I'm sure this is the one...Zoe would know.

Tony you never should have shown that picture of the puzzle book. Don't let her talk you into taking it to the EB Day !!! You'll lose it. LOL

How do you post a picture???

Oi, what's the point in having a partner in crime if you go and give the game away!!!?!?!?!

That's answered in the Question section, but if you want, just email me them, I'll host them on a site and the post them for you or email you the links to post yourself :)

So....Tony.... Fancy bringing that book to the EB day :D  *looks very innocent*

Thanks Jackie, you have just reminded me that I have a complete run of TV Times for both series and I have just looked that issue up. A very nice picture of Gary reading a Doctor Who book - obviously ideas were forming in his mind even then!

I am not actually sure if you have the Crossword Book either - I might be frog marched from the Hall if you are both there on the Day.
