Help please!

My mother was telling me a story about a pixie who said he didn't need a reward for something good he did, he just wanted the person he helped to pass on the good turn.
Eventually these good turns travelled around the whole village and came back to the pixie when he needed help.

I've been searching and cannot find this story; does anyone know what this story is called?

Thank you,
Aly

Anita, one of the gurus here, may know: I have the ghost of a memory that she answered someone else a few years ago about this very story. I don't recall myself, though (otherwise I'd answer you myself).
     Welcome to the forum.

Regards, Michael.

Gosh, I wish I could remember answering before because I'm not sure of the answer now!

The story which springs to mind is 'It All Began with Jinky', in which Jinky the pixie digs an elderly neighbour's garden. The neighbour then does someone else a kindness, and that person does a good turn for another, and so it goes on until Jinky himself is helped:

I'm not certain that's the story you're looking for though, Aly, as Enid Blyton wrote several tales on the same theme and I don't think the term "good turn" is used in that particular story. I hope other forumites can think of other possibilities.
