Was this an Enid Blyton story?

Hello, I'm hoping somebody could solve a mystery about a story from my primary school days (a very long time ago!) I remember being read a story in class where we had to count the number of times the word 'AND' appeared - there were LOTS of them. Does this ring a bell with anyone? It may have been in the' Faraway ' series.
Thank you for your thoughts.

The books in the Faraway Tree series are:
  • The Enchanted Wood
    The Magic Faraway Tree
The Folk of the Faraway Tree

I've just counted the number of 'and's in chapter IX of "The Magic Faraway Tree" (entitled "The Land Of Dreams"), and I make it 63 (although I may have missed a couple). Hope this helps!

Please specify some other things about the story too, Deborah, i.e a fairy, a certain naughty brownie, etc.

There are a good deal of stories with a lot of ands!

I can't help wondering why you were asked about the number of 'ands' . I guess that's why not much story has been remembered - too busy counting!
