Thirteen O' Clock story. Which book did I own?

Post by Kellybird »

Hi all,

What a wonderful site, just signed up today and am thrilled in finding it. I wondered if you lovely people could help me, I understand i'm probably searching for a needle in a haystack, but when I was younger i'd say around 4/5 years of age (1986) I owned a story book which included Thirteen o clock and am trying to track it down so I can share it with my children now. I really don't have any clue as too which book I owned all I know was that it was one of many stories in the book and maybe included one about a soldier too???? oh and it was around A4 in size!! I hope someone can help me!!

Thank you in advance

Kelly

Whatever awaits behind closed doors,
Strange noises in the cellar or the sound of creaky floors,
We never let a mystery pass us by,
Just leave a clue and leave the rest to the Famous Five.

Did you look at the link which Smuggler's Top gave you Kellybird? It takes you to the cave of books and there it shows that the second edition of Thirteen o'Clock was called by the title of another story it contained about an Enchanter but it contains "Thirteen o'Clock" just the same. Maybe it is this edition which you are remembering. There is a story about a sailor in it - but no soldier as far as I could tell!

It might be THIS BOOK that you read it from, Kelly. Published in 1945, it contains Thirteen O'clock and The Sailor Doll.

I wonder whether the book you're looking for could be Goodnight Stories, Treasure Press, 1986. It has been discussed in the following thread:

http://www.enidblytonsociety.co.uk/foru ... =20&t=3396" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"Heyho for a starry night and a heathery bed!" - Jack, The Secret Island.

"There is no bond like the bond of having read and liked the same books."
- E. Nesbit, The Wonderful Garden.

I think you are possibly barking up the wrong tree here, lovelydog.
