The Enid Blyton Society

I have sent a message before to an Enid Blyton website and I can't remember where I sent it, but I am looking for help to find a book of short stories. The story that sticks in my mind the most is about Bobo and the magic stocking. The book had a few christmas related stories in it - Bobo was about a boy who snuck into Santas sleigh (he was not such a good child, so he did not get a special invitation like the girl next door) and all the children were granted a wish. Bobo wished for a stocking that gave him anything he wanted. Of course things went bad for Bobo and he needed the girl next door to help him stop his stocking from producing things. Can anyone help me?? The front cover (I think) had like a mushroom type house on it?? Thanks all.

Bobbo's Magic stocking appeared in a couple of Enid Blyton books of different ages. It all depends how old this book was that you remember. I have it in The Boys and Girls Story Book number 5 (a big thick hardback with a fox and a 'Mrs Duck' on the front, from 1935), and also in a 1960's card-wrapped book called 'Enid Blyton's Fairy Folk Story Book'.

It probably appeared in a few more, too!

Thanks for that Robert, I would say it was the fairy folk book from the 60's. I remember my brother getting it for Xmas one year. Do you think you could tell me some of the other stories in it? I have been looking for this book for about 10 years now, I guess I was looking in all the wrong places and should have come here in the first place!
I have been talking to my sister and she has told me that the cover of the book has the "roundy house" on it. It was one of the stories inside the book.

Now you've told me what the cover was like, I should think it was actually Enid Blyton's 'Once Upon a time Stories'. This was a hard back book by Collins with a picture of the little roundy house on the front. Other stories included Crispin the Giant Slayer, The Laughing Duck, Angelina and the Toy Balloon, Who Stole the Fish?, Jimmy's Wishing Bean, The Little Toy Farm and The Bear with the Boot Button Eyes. Bobbo's Magic Stocking anf The Little Roundy Man also featured, of course.
