Right. I had never heard of "penguins".
I confess to not being a big fan of Tim Tams. I do like the Double Choc, Caramel, Mint and Peanut Butter ones, but not the plain ones.

The riddle, are you Nicky from "The Mystery That Never Was"?
I cannot remember if he had any siblings, but the plot sounds like this book.

Mint Slices are my favourite! 8) I'll get my parents to resupply me when I visit in the new year, as there doesn't seem to be a UK equivalent.

I thought someone would guess that, but no.

I love Mint Slices and Caramel Crowns. I used to love Gaity (sp?) but I am tired of them now.
Talking about Mint Slices my youngest daughter made the yummiest treats for Christmas. Mint Slices and cream cheese placed in a food processor and mixed together, then shaped into balls and coated with real chocolate.

The riddle must be from one of the books that I have not read yet.

Ooooooh... mmmmm. (For the uninitiated, this is what we're talking about.)

I'll copy the riddle here again, as we've gone over to the next page of the thread.

I feature in one of Enid Blyton's "one-off" novels.

I am one of three siblings.

My game of "pretend" unexpectedly turned into a real adventure that resulted in the discovery of something long-lost.

Who am I, and which book am I in?

Are you Alec from "Smuggler Ben"?
That is another one-off book that I have read, and I remember the children were pretending to be Smugglers.

No, not Alec. (I haven't read that one myself!)

Just remembered this thread... anyone want another go at the riddle? Or shall I give a hint? :D

Right. Here's the riddle again as a reminder:

I am one of three siblings.

My game of "pretend" unexpectedly turned into a real adventure that resulted in the discovery of something long-lost.

Who am I, and which book am I in?

Hint: it's a girl character, with two brothers.

I'm pretty certain the book is "The Treasure Hunters", but I can't remember any of the characters names without looking them up. :(

I have never read "The Treasure Hunters" so I have no idea, either.

Walter's right, but can anyone name the character?

I've a vauge memory of it being a typical Blytonian name like Anne or Susan, but the one that seems most familiar and the one I'm going to plump for is 'Wendy'.

Oh dear, Walter, one of those was right, but it wasn't Wendy!
