Re: Find-Outers Series Quiz
It looks like what we know so far, expressed in algebra: x = the correct number of clues, which is greater than 3 and less than 10.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Re: Find-Outers Series Quiz
Well, 3 < x > 10 means, symbolically, that x (the unknown number) is somewhere between 3 and 10. But even though I read Hidden House fairly recently, I still don't know what that number of clues was...

Re: Find-Outers Series Quiz
The number was definitely stated, plus the items were listed as Ern threw them out of the window.

Re: Find-Outers Series Quiz
Oh no, I didn't mean the number wasn't definitely stated in the book — I'm sure it is. I meant that María Esther was using algebra to show what we know so far about that number, since it looks like none of us know the exact number and we're all going by guesswork!

Here's a new question:
Who owned a cat named Patabang?
Who owned a cat named Patabang?
'Go down to the side-shows by the river this afternoon. I'll meet you somewhere in disguise. Bet you won't know me!' wrote Fatty.
