Sigh - so it looks as if it would be a good idea to follow the threads I don't care about after all. :?

In this one instance, yes!

Edited to add: I can't find the discussion now. I've checked back all my posts in games to November last year, and my post about the loss of posts in post counts seems to be gone.

"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

Tony deleted the discussion because it was disrupting the game, and we're still trying to figure out how much difference reducing the Word Association Game thread might make. Like Fatty, I do find that the Games section loads more slowly for me than other sections.

It wouldn't hurt to try. It might not make much of a difference, but every little bit counts, I suppose.

It would seem that Keith needs to be involved in this. It seems pretty pointless to have a trial and error exercise, which might have no significance to the speed in which threads load. Keith may have already been involved in this, but if not, I would suggest he becomes so.

We did consult Keith of course, but he wasn't sure how much the load speed would be affected by removing the old Word Association games.

Has it really done much? I for one think that we should remove the old word assosiation game and make a new one so we can improve the speed of the old games thread.

In came the Taggertys. They were clean, except Biddy knees looked like she had been crawling half a mile in some muddy place.

Well, Nigel's 10,124 posts will perhaps decrease by a thousand or two.  Then he'd have a Ten Thousand Today - Again! thread.

Well maybe you should keep an eye on it Julie and give it a bump up whenever it gets too far down the page!

"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.
