"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

It only stays stickied at the top of the games forum. It won't appear at the top of the recent/active topics pages if there are newer posts in other threads.

I'd really ike it if the fourteen day rule could be shortened. It does not seem to affect the FFOs thread which is quite lively but it is happpppening more and more in the School threads that people leave and don't come back for ten days. I would not mind , if I were delayed some how for ten days , coming back and finding someone else had posted a question. Can we amend the rule?

That question was raised on the St. Clare's Quiz thread (p. 43) not long ago but there wasn't much response:

The length of time could be shortened if enough people want it to be. What do others think - especially those who play on the Games threads regularly?

The thing is that it seems that some quizzes have much shorter turn over times than others. I've rarely seen the FFO quiz stalled but the school quizzes seem to grind to a halt all the time, and some of us do enjoy them.

A week would be fine by me, providing certain people could refrain from continually posting reminders 5 minutes after the answer has been verified. If people have a week/two weeks it's hugely annoying (possibly more so than no activity in the thread) to see the thread come up to the top of recent posts two or three times, and think there's a new Q, and instead see "COME ON WE ARE WAITING!!! *insert too many smilies here" etc.

I personally wouldn't mind losing the right to post a new Q if I happened to forget about a thread. Yes, real life sometimes gets in the way of the games, and I'd rather the thread just moved on and I could join in again later, instead of everyone waiting for me. It's no big deal, not getting to post the Q even if it was out of your control that you couldn't get on the forums.

I dont play that often anymore but I'm fine with reducing the 14 days rule. Some threads in the Games section do seem to be pretty much permanently stalled.

That's five people who would prefer the time to be reduced (let's say from 14 days to a week, as that's easier to remember than 8 days). I'm happy with that too and will change it on the official rules tomorrow, unless we have any strong objections in the meantime.

A week is fine by me too, and if I ever forget, then I don't mind if someone steps in, as Fiona has said, sometimes our every day life can get in the way, and it's a shame to hold up any of the games, especially for the younger ones who probably have more time of their hands.
