Blyton Ditloids Quiz

Post by Fiona1986 »

In case you don't know what a ditloid is "A ditloid is a type of word puzzle, in which a phrase, quotation, date, or fact must be deduced from the numbers and abbreviated letters in the clue. "

For example,
24 H in a D = 24 Hours in a Day
52 C in a P = 52 Cards in a Pack
20000 LU the S = Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea

So here's the first Blyton one, can you guess the phrase?

4c + 1d = TFF

"It's the ash! It's falling!" yelled Julian, almost startling Dick out of his wits...
"Listen to its terrible groans and creaks!" yelled Julian, almost beside himself with impatience.

The Famous Five?
"You're so sharp you'll cut yourself one day!" Hunchy said going to the door
"So my Mother told me that when I was two years old!" said Julian and the others giggled.

Four children + one dog = The Famous Five?
"My school," thought Darrell, and a little warm feeling came into her heart.

It could also be

7 children + 1 spaniel = The Secret Seven

It was:

7 children + 1 spaniel = The Secret Seven. But it could have been 7 children + one Scamper = The Secret Seven.
