Re: Guess the character
Neither can anyone else so far, from the looks of it! Here are the clues again...
Would anyone like a further hint?Courtenay wrote: Although I am only a very small character, I have many exciting adventures in the world I inhabit. (Once I was even offered a trip to Africa, but missed my flight.)
I have something of a knack for obtaining useful household items from unusual sources.
I have even been responsible for the distinctive markings of certain birds!

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Yes. I need one.
I am thinking this character must be from one of the books I have not read.

Re: Guess the character
I just realised this is another thread that's slipped down a long way with a question still pending:
Any takers? I know there are definitely some others here who would know the answer...Courtenay wrote: Although I am only a very small character, I have many exciting adventures in the world I inhabit. (Once I was even offered a trip to Africa, but missed my flight.)

Re: Guess the character
Thanks Courtenay! I don't think I've played this before!
Here we go --
I am a woman with a sad past, which I guess has made me bitter. I'm very good with a needle, and would love to own a sewing machine - that would make my job so much easier! I love my niece, but the tragedy of the past has made me close my heart to her. I hide my feelings with a short temper, and seem hard, but that is just to hide my sadness.

Re: Guess the character
OK, here's another (I like making three-clue riddles, for some reason)...
I belong to two worlds and don't quite fit into either.
I have a four-footed companion who often assists me in my work.
I have a particular special ability that regularly comes in handy!

Re: Guess the character
I live near the sea, a boy who likes to think he's tough.
I love playing 'let's pretend' games and sometimes get carried away with them!
I feel so proud to have a boat named after me!

I wondered if it is Andy, but am not sure about the 'let's pretend' games!
