I like them both but Jack Trent remains my firm favourite - especially as I have been re-reading the Adventure series for the umpteenth time recently.

Hmmm. Lucy-Ann is sweet, but I'll take Fatty because he's one of the most memorable and colourful and hilarious characters Enid ever created.

Barney, definitely. I've only read one of the Barney series books, but I liked him immediately. Julian is too pompous and terribly "grown up" at times.

Tough but it's George. We get to know her better over the course of the 21 books and though both are quirky characters I think she is more individual. Plus I prefer Timmy to Miranda.
