I like them both but Jack Trent remains my firm favourite - especially as I have been re-reading the Adventure series for the umpteenth time recently.

Jack Trent or Fatty?

The idea of the game is to use your choice as one of the next two... so Fatty needs to be one of the next choices.

Hmmm. Lucy-Ann is sweet, but I'll take Fatty because he's one of the most memorable and colourful and hilarious characters Enid ever created.

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Julian - I don't like Fatty's boasting.

Julian
or
Tinker?

Barney, definitely. I've only read one of the Barney series books, but I liked him immediately. Julian is too pompous and terribly "grown up" at times.

Barney or Andy (The Adventurous Four)?

Hm, difficult but I go for Barney - a very special character

Barney
or
Jack (Secret Series)?

Barney I think, although both are resourceful independent lads.

Barney
Or
George Kirrin?

Tough but it's George. We get to know her better over the course of the 21 books and though both are quirky characters I think she is more individual. Plus I prefer Timmy to Miranda.

George Kirrin or The Saucepan Man?
