It was hard to believe the same replanted tree would grow so big with the aid of Uncle Quentin's magic fertilizer that it would topple and crush poor Kirrin Cottage.

Well, fellow Blyton fans, this truly was a game-and-a-half! All good captions, some very good captions.... and some were too good to escape notice....!

But of course there has to be only one winner. And so....

The last Caption Competition Runner-Up for 2017 is.... Anita.

And the last Caption Competition Winner for 2017 is....

A "double ouch"! And a double win. Congrats, Rob!

Now then, starting January 1st (which for the few of us on this Forum, including myself, is still deemed as tomorrow), Rob will start the first Caption round for 2018.

A Happy and Safe New Year to you all!

Yes well done Rob and many others. I thought there were a lot of imaginative and clever captions this time. -there are always some good ones, I hasten to add, but somehow this lot all seemed brilliant to me!

I agree - there were many great captions for the last picture - so I was very surprised and honoured to win! :-D

Here's the next illustration - one from a story featured in my '60 Years Ago' thread last year and from a 1957 Enid Blyton Magazine!

Good Luck! I will pick a winner in about a week's time. :-D
