loL! good one Pete!

Right - after a good chuckle at a good few captions, I've picked a winner.

Runner-up - Anita, with her brilliant caption about Blue Peter (I wonder if this joke is generational joke?!) -

Mother was astonished at what her children had achieved using a fretsaw, some old planks and a sheet of sticky-backed plastic. These Blue Peter "makes" were quite something.

But the winner, which I really found amusing, is Domino's, which I guess some readers might not get, but I chuckled loudly! -

"It's a genuine oak chair, Mummy! As you can see, theres no veneer in 'ere."

Well done, Domino! 8)
'Oh voice of Spring of Youth
hearts mad delight,
Sing on, sing on, and when the sun is gone
I'll warm me with your echoes
through the night.'

It was a nuisance. An adventure was one thing - but an adventure without anything to eat was quite another thing. That wouldn't do at all. (The Valley of Adventure)

Thanks, Rob (and Courtenay and Pete). I certainly wasn't expecting that one to win; it was very much a spur of the moment entry.

Here's the next one.

Don't think too hard - let the train take the strain!

This isn't a caption...but I wonder if the illustrator was influenced by photos of a young Adolph Hitler!!!

Ah, but Rob, the young Adolf didn't have a toothbrush moustache. He looked like this in World War 1.

Yes - I hadn't thought of that, Domino! But I agree it could certainly be On The Busses loL! :-D

Sorry to 'derail' the thread! ;-)

No one would ever guess the guard had forgotten his flag. A dirty handkerchief came in jolly useful!
